Thanks to a Tropical rain front I have been experiencing
large quantities of water as the rain continues. People had
the street blocked, both lanes as they awaited the school
bus. Picking up the kid so he doesn't have to walk in the
rain one guy told me. Forget I had to get out of my car and
was standing in the rain as I talked to him. Funny thing, He
lives in the third house from the bus stop. The other lane of
the street was blocked by a truly brain dead woman who
was driving on the wrong side of the road. She lives two
freakin' houses from the stop. Another funny thing, it had
stopped raining and when the bus arrived all the little cretins
refused the ride and looked at their parents for the stupid
morons they really are. I finally just turned around and went
in the opposite direction.

Another Summer comes to a close. It is always a transition
made easier by the beginning of American Football season.
You know fall is in the air when you smell that unmistakable
odor of fresh cut grass mixed with popcorn. The sounds of
the drum line to the fans says it's time for Fall. I always hate
to see Summer go but Fall is always great times ahead!

Another fire on an oil rig off the coast of Louisiana.
Another oil slick off the coast, no wait, conflicting
reports from the same source. And I Quote:

GRAND ISLE, La. — The Coast Guard is backing off its earlier
report that an oil sheen about a mile long was spreading following
a platform explosion in the Gulf of Mexico.

Coast Guard Cmdr. Cheri Ben-Iesau said Thursday afternoon
that crews was unable to confirm the oil sheen. The Coast Guard
says platform owner Mariner Energy reported a sheen about a mile
long and 100 feet wide. But the company has said in a statement
that an initial flyover didn't find an oil spill.
all crew members have been brought ashore in Houma, La.
There were no injuries, he said, although Ben-Iesau said one
person was injured.

So there was a reported oil slick, no there wasn't. There was
one person injur...no there wasn't.

President Obama has declared Americas war in Iraq to
be over. Went on to say the big priority now is to fix the
faulty economy. Talking heads will have many negative
things to say about this. Many of those that blasted G.W.
Bush for his part are now praising him in an attempt to
stop Obama from taking any credit. In hindsight, Obama
did get elected on one of the promises that he would get
our boys out of Iraq. He has now done that. Although
most tragically over 4000 families didn't get their sons
home. I for one am proud of their sacrifice for the rest
of us. Because of these brave soldiers you are able to
enjoy your double mocha Valium frappachinno this
morning. Now if we can only get the hell out of
Afghanistan.

Last night was the Emmy Awards. Celebrating the best
of America T.V. Let Me be blunt, The opening number
like the Grammies is the highlight of the evening. Usually.
I tuned in to find barely part time comedian and completely
lame talk show host Jimmy Fallon's attempt at singing a song
from the 70's, Born To Run, while dressed in jeans and plain
white T like Bored in the USA from 1984. If Bruce Springsteen
was watching I bet his soul patch turned white then fell out.
This was one of the worst pieces of TV ever. I was cringing
after only a few bars. Then the cast of Glee turned it into a
scene from a creepy 1970's Travolta, Olivia Neutron Bomb
movie. By the time Fallon was doing the hand jive with Tina
Fey I was out of there. It was embarrassing. How can anybody
let no talent horse plopping like this tell them this is
entertainment? It was like an Elementary School skit with
very high production values. Stoopid, which makes it two
steps dumber than if it was spelled correctly as in stupid.
