Man this month has flown by. 2012 is shaping up to be
a year of changes for many as finding a job gets harder
and harder for some. The Government isn't really helping
the problem but they try to make us believe they are.
At least it's the weekend. Time to forget all this crap for
a couple of days. Get out and enjoy yourself.

President Obama gave the annual State Of The Union address
last night. It was a total rah rah pep talk that had most of the
crowd cheering. Most except for the Republicans who refuse
to work with the man as he attempts to pull the country out of
this funk. These nay sayers give me the impression they would
let the country falter just to keep the man from reelection. Not
a hidden agenda as these chuckleheads publicly stated such.
So all the rest of us are rolling down a slope with no end in
site. If you are a Republican I have to ask why? All of the clowns
you elected are rich. You are not. They don't want to pay taxes.
Most pay much less if anything compared to you. They argue
just because they are rich doesn't mean they should pay their
fair share. Obama has plans to change that. Rich Republicans
want to keep you in your middle to low income while they
rake in millions. They argue also that they pay sales tax on their
yachts and such so that should be enough. It is not. I and you
also pay sales taxes. First we are taxed for making money.
Then we pay sales tax. Some pay state income taxes as well
as Fed tax . I found the Presidents speech to be uplifting as
well as a positive message to the people. Republicans demand
to always make a rebuttal after the address which is completely
stoopid. [Rockcast speak for insanity deluxe] The Governor of
the state of Indiana came across as a complete moron out of
touch with people across the country as he pontificated on
what had been said. Made me wonder if he had even listened
to the speech. Now whether his words inspired any of his
adversaries to action is a only time will tell situation. I'm not
a psychic but I can tell you these despicable clowns will not
get anything done. America, it's suppose to be two chickens
in every garage and a car in every pot. or something like that.
Not what we are getting.

Happy B Day Shannon M. of Coloma Mi.

American Baseball and National League Member Houston Astros
has been sold. The new owner has agreed to move the team from
National league where they have existed for 50 years to the  American
League for the 2013 season. The Astros, so named because of the
proximity to NASA and H-town being "Space City" has been the
Astros for 47 of their 50 years. After 3 seasons the name was changed
from the Colt 45's to the Astros. After a slew of division championships
in the 90's and a trip to the World Series in'05 the Astros quickly have
descended to the worst team in baseball. Losing 106 of 162 games in
2011. I can understand why when you buy a company you would
look over the whole situation and make changes as needed. The first
thing the new owner did was cut ticket prices. Nice start but in the
same breath they slipped in "oh and we are looking into changing
the name."  If this is merely a ploy by the PR department to get peeps
talking about the team then it worked. If they are serious about the
name change they are being stupid. The name on the front of the
jersey isn't what needs to change. The names on the back of the
jerseys is what needs to improve. You can't field a minor league
team of mediocre players and charge big league ticket prices to
see them lose. That is why people stayed away from the park
last season. It wasn't come see the Astros play, it was come
eat at so and so restaurant and have a luke warm $8. beer!
All the while the team sucked so bad they were unwatchable.
Lowering the price of a beer form 8 to $5. is a good start
now get professional big league players. Don't field a bunch
of hacks and expect the public to buy it. No matter how
much publicity you give the schlubs if they don't produce,
perform and win then it's not sell able. Going to the American
league is garbage also. The National league plays the original
baseball I prefer. Minus designated hitters and such. So keep
Houston the ASTROS. Anything else is unacceptable. Beside
that, being the worst in baseball goes along with the name every
other team calls Houston. The Lastros.

PIPA just isn't the sister of Kate. It also is the Protect International
Property Act. Answer to my question of what about International
pirates in other countries. 60 votes are needed to pass. Yesterday
40 of those who were going to vote for it changed their minds after
more than 7 million people signed a petition to kill it. Actually they
were protesting SOPA but that's beside the point. Perhaps you
noticed some of your favs were blacked out. The Senate bill and
it's counterpart in the house would censor the web and impose
burdensome regulations on businesses in the U.S. One step closer
to a police state in America if passed. Luckily 7 plus million folks
were heard. [Takes that many huh?] Change is coming. Police in
New Zealand arrested the founder of a large file sharing website
that the U.S. says cost copyright holders over 500 million dollars
in lost revenue from pirate movies and "other content". The site
boast of over 150 million registered members and even had an
open page of endorsement from several high profile musical
artist. Arrested for piracy. That wouldn't look good on your bio
page. Could this be the end of the line? Or will we all need to
get an eye patch in the future? Arrrrgh me mates yo ho.

The SOPA bill is again raising it's ugly head. The Stop
online Piracy Act is the most extreme anti free speech
copyright proposal in U.S. history. Basicaly creating a
blacklist of sites which in turn would be ignored by search
engines. So the big brothers would still allow you to have
your website. People will just not be able to get to it. Plus
the law would not be addressing the main pirates who are
outside of the United States jurisdiction. SOPA would
require DNS servers operators in the U.S. to replace the
correct IP address with an alternate provided by the Attorney
Generals office. Messing with DNS and legalizing state controlled
DNS changing is flat out wrong and a lot of overkill. It all comes
down to the government discretion if you are an "infringer".
Thousands of dangerous criminals out there running free and the
government is trying to create a new species of criminals. Movie
pirates in Russia,China or the Philippines will not be the target.
Some fellow in Duluth streaming songs is who they will go after.
Funny thing is there is a thing called the DCMA, the Digital
Millennium Copyright Act that covers this but the suits claim
rogue sites ignore the law. So lets "infringe" on the populace.
Congress even went on and on in the hearing about how they
are not Nerds and no little on the subject. The suggested they
get some nerds in there to explain it to their collective ignorance.
I believe the word they should be using and looking for is,
EXPERT. Not Nerd. Call or write your mouth piece in D.C.
SOPA is B.S! Do it now before sites and rights are gone.
Forever.

Happy Birthday Colleen

So I spent my weekend watching football and marveling at the amount of
enthusiasm involved with the fans. I for one am tired of my team losing.
Winning is way more fun. Granted there is winning and losing in life.
Actually way more losing. The Home team was in the NFL playoffs
for the very first time in their young existence. They won the first playoff
game and everybody jumped on the band wagon. They went out and
lost the second round game due to turnovers and errors on the players
part. After the game said "offenders" were roasted and toasted by the
low brows on the local sports talk. They ragged on one player so long
that some fans obviously took it to heart. They found out where the man
lived and went to his house and terrorised by burning stuff in his front
yard. Dumb rednecks. I hate losing but to go to that extreme is insane.
Once again a hand full of dipstick Texan fans shed a bad light on them all.
What a waste of energy.
